Sarah Lord

After qualifying as a physiotherapist (BSc Hons) in Manchester almost 20 years ago I started my career in a London teaching hospital where I gained experience, working with varied and often complex client groups.  I am able to treat people with a variety of complaints from sports injuries and spinal complaints to age related mobility and functional issues. I have since worked in a variety of settings both in the NHS and privately.

I have specialised in musculoskeletal conditions and post-operative rehabilitation. I have a particular interest in muscle imbalances and have a holistic 'whole body' approach - working with patients to rebalance the body through hands on treatment and exercise.

I also use acupuncture within my treatments and run hydrotherapy sessions for those who would benefit from water based rehabilitation sessions, following an operation or where land based exercise is painful or difficult.

As ongoing learning and development is essential in order to keep up with evidence based best practise I have consistently attended post-graduate courses, the most recent being;

Diagnosis & Treatment of Chronic Gluteal (buttock) Pain and Hamstring Tendinopathy.

Understanding and Integrating Myofascial Spinal Treatment

The Adult Hip Patient – The Diagnostic Challenge

I have also completed an NVQ Level 4 in Management.
